At CODAH, we believe inclusion starts with awareness—and action. Being an ally means more than support; it means standing up, speaking out, and doing the work of equity every day. Whether you're new to the disability space or seeking ways to deepen your impact, here are five powerful ways you can be a better ally:

1. Learn Basic Sign Language

Language is connection. Even a few words in sign language can create an inclusive moment. Attend a training, watch a video, or join our I Can Sign program.

2. Challenge Everyday Ableism

Ableism can show up in jokes, assumptions, or exclusionary practices. Speak up when you hear or see it. Use inclusive language and promote accessibility in your space.

3. Support Deaf and Disabled Creators

Follow Deaf influencers, buy from disability-owned businesses, and amplify their work. Representation and economic empowerment matter.

4. Advocate for Accessible Spaces

Whether it’s in schools, events, workplaces, or websites—push for ramps, interpreters, captions, and more. Inclusion is everyone’s responsibility.

5. Volunteer or Partner with CODAH

Join our mission! From community walks to school outreach, there’s a place for you to serve, learn, and grow.
